We would like to thank ALL OF YOU that took the time to fill out the community survey and attend any and all of our public workshops. Your attendance and interest are very appreciated and we look forward to hearing more from you as we move forward with developing a draft of the Ault Comprehensive Plan.
Below you will find a synopsis of the various public outreach methods we have used during the development of the Ault Comprehensive Plan. Click here to read of summary of what we've done so far or scroll down this page to find in depth information about each of the activities.
Civil Resources met with Ms. Hensley's Student Leadership class and Ms. Otto's art class on May 2, 2008 at Highland High School. We asked students to tell us where they are from and one thing they love about their town. In the leadership class, the students then broke up into smaller groups to come up with goals and ideas regarding different components of the plan such as Economic Development, Parks, Transportation, etc. In Ms. Otto's art class we discussed what students liked about their town, what they would like to see change, etc. We also asked them to choose between two Ault logos and encouraged the students to draw their own logo, signature for Ault, or sketch out ideas for landscaping, streetscape enhancements, etc.

The first public workshop was held on May 12th. Participants engaged in a variety of activities aimed at gaining input about the critical issues facing Ault, what they value about Ault, and what they want the Town to be like in 30-40 years. Click here to read more!

The second public workshop was held on June 7th at the Highland School District Adminstration Building. Participants were served breakfast before listening to a presentation outlining what we've heard from the public so far. Then, attendees participated in the Future by Design exercise where they laid out future land uses and facilities such as parks, trails and new police and fire stations. Click here to learn more about the exercise.
Here are the maps showing where participants placed land uses. Note that these maps do not include where attendees located facilities, trails, and parks. We will post those maps shortly!

Workshop 3 included keypad polling and discussion with citizens regarding key planning goals and ideas. Citizens voted on whether or not they liked the Guiding Principles, a draft Future Land Use Map and some key concepts about parks, trails, tourism and economic development. Stay tuned for information on where and how to access the public copies of the draft Ault Comprehensive Plan. We value your feedback and appreciate your input!
